Deep thanks to all of you who made the Verse ~ Converse Poetry Festival 2012 such a fabulous success.

We are busy organizing photos and videos of the event and hope to have them up along with an improved website soon — so bear with us in the transition. We have great plans for a stronger web community, and we have already started planning the 6th Annual Verse ~ Converse Poetry Festival (May 30 – June 1, 2013).

HELP NEEDED: We need more pix and video – especially of the youth team championship. Please send as emails to behrstock@aol.com. Many Thanx!

We have been so thrilled with the volume of positive feedback — in person, on FB, etc. Feel free to post your comments here as well. The competitions, workshops, poets living room all have received such enthusiastic responses. So, thank you all. We could not have done it without all of you.

Nice one: a waitress at the Invitational Poetry Competition at the Alley on Friday night said: “I was so ready to mock these people. But I couldn’t, I was so moved!” Winning more fans for poetry!

Conversing in Verse — June 2nd

@ the Harwood

“[Smith’s] imagination burns us alive with big talk, bop talk, scat talk, sex talk, street talk . . . When a voice like Patricia Smith’s tells the story, the voice transcends the individual pain and helps to nourish us all. [Her] poems are blessings that will move like white light through your veins.”
